Lash Lifting Hacks

Lash Lifting is one of the fastest-growing treatments and it’s easy to see why. It’s changed the game. Clients can now push the mascara to one side and achieve long and full lashes with the help of their new best friend: their lash technician.

Whether you’ve just trained or have been qualified for a while, sometimes lash lifting can be tricky! However, at LashBase we always like to try and help so we’ve put together some helpful tips and tricks for all the lash technicians out there who offer the lash lift treatment.

Cutting Your Shield

Every lash tech knows that selecting the correct shield size is always an important part of any lash lift treatment.  However, sometimes the shield can be slightly too big for the client’s eye. To resolve this, simply trim the outer edge of the shield to fit. Your client will still be comfortable, the shield will fit perfectly, and the lift won’t be affected – everyone is happy!

Watch the video below to see how we do this:

Shield Positioning

Shield positioning can make or break a lash lift! If you get it wrong, you run the risk of not achieving a perfect lift. Get it right and the lashes will give a desirable, beautiful lift. Resulting in a repeat booking!

To help with positioning, before applying the lash lift shield, lightly tape down the client’s lashes to the eye pad so that you have a clearer view of the lash line, by doing this you can position the shield as close to the lash line as possible for that perfect lift. It will also keep lashes from getting stuck under the shield.

Taping the Lid

Another tip is to apply, de-tacked tape, such as Micropore Tape to the eyelid and place the shield on top. Shields adhere better to tape meaning the shield won’t move. It will also save you time when you finish, as you will not need to clean the lash lift adhesive off the eyelid, as it comes away with the tape. This is such a quick and easy tip which saves some time!

Lifting the Eyelids

Being able to see the lash line can be tricky when a client has loose skin on their eyelids. However, there is a simple way to help resolve this. Using Micropore tape, simply press one end down close to the lash line, then pull the tape slightly, lifting the lid up and press down the other end close to the brow line.

We have a video below which will help demonstrate:
