Retailing products can be daunting for some, but we are here to help. We have listed below, 5 top tips for retailing to your lash clients.
1. SELL BUT DON’T ‘SELL’
That may sound strange, but what we mean is that you don’t need to be a sales person to sell retail products. If you see yourself as a ‘sales person’ you will likely have a negative attitude towards selling, it’s only natural.
Remember that when your clients look after their lashes, it saves you time at appointments and saves them money, because their lashes will last longer, so you are helping them and you both benefit.
2. SHOW OFF YOUR RETAIL PRODUCTS
Have an area dedicated to your retail items. For example on some shelves or a table in your waiting area or in your lash room. Ideally an area that your clients will see after getting up off the couch or when paying.
3. BENEFITS OVER EVERYTHING
Always advise your clients on the benefits of using after care. Some benefits include:
- Good lash after care helps prevent infections.
- By cleaning your lash extensions daily you’ll see an improvement in long-term retention, meaning your lashes will look fuller for longer.
- Less time on the couch - more time to enjoy your lashes.
4. USE THE PRODUCTS ON YOUR CLIENTS
Throughout their appointment use the products that are available to purchase and let your client know what you are using as you go. If they try a product for themselves and like it, they are more likely to purchase it.
5. ‘FREE’ AFTER CARE
It may be worth considering updating your pricing structure to include a ‘free’ after care kit. For instance, if you currently charge $60 for a Classic Set of Lashes, update the price to $68 + a FREE After Care Kit. This way the client will believe they are getting an amazing offer and you will be benefiting from an extra few pounds in your pocket.
